Taco Tuesdays and Crockpot Stewsdays

By Seth Kahl, Class of 2014

We have a new development this year; weekly Tuesday dinners that revolve around the idea of nurturing friendship and fun. We began Tuesday dinners as Taco Tuesdays, where students would come together to make various Latin cuisines and listen to festive music. We even had an inflatable cactus and Jarritos Mexican soda.

As the cold weather is arriving, however, the dinner theme has changed to Crockpot Stewsdays featuring a different, mouth-watering stew every week. Aramark has been kind enough to make the soups for us, which allows us to experience the same delicious soups they have in the 1889 dining hall.

Many people come early to help prepare delicious food and enjoy each other's company. Regardless of CCM membership, any student can come to enjoy the food and fellowship. This is a great way for students of all different backgrounds to come together and to truly be embraced by love of the Mystical Body of Christ. No matter what the weather, students are sure to find a good time and good friends at the Tuesday Night Dinners at Newman.
