Who We Are Who We Are

Mission Statement: Catholic Campus Ministry at Elon University seeks to form a strong faith community on campus. We gather Catholics and friends for prayer, worship, service, learning, and fellowship in the manner of the Gospel. By nourishing the faith of our community and fostering discipleship in Christ, we strive to inspire responsible and passionate leaders for the Church and our society.

Catholic Campus Ministry is an Elon University student organization. We are a community of people open to the power of the Spirit and striving to live the Gospel of Jesus in our modern world as members of the Catholic Church. We believe that faith gives life, and sharing faith gives life its meaning. We invite Catholics and those interested in the Roman Catholic Church to join us in living and celebrating a life grounded in faith, nurtured by hope, and sustained by love.

  • We offer praise and thanks to God as we gather for the celebration of Sunday Eucharist.
  • We make our faith our own by our common prayer, our study of the Bible, and our formation in faith.
  • We celebrate the gift of each other in the friendships we share and the time we spend together.
  • We seek out Christ in service to those in need.
  • We are here to support one another in our joys and in our struggles, to strengthen one another in our hopes and fears, and to love one another as Christ loves us all.

Elon CCM makes their home at the new Catholic Newman Center at Holland House, on South Campus. The Newman Center offers students a library, meeting space, and a kitchen and dining area for weekly programs and dinners. Living quarters for four Catholic students are available on the second floor of the building.

We gather each Sunday evening at the Elon Community Church, corner of Williamson and Haggard Avenues, across from the BP Station for Masses at 4:00PM and 6:00PM. There are home-cooked Sunday night suppers once a month after the 6PM Mass which allows us to share a meal and grow together as a community of love. We also gather for Mass each Wednesday at 7:30PM in Holt Chapel (South Campus, adjacent to the Newman Center) and each Fridays at 12:10PM in the Sacred Space of the Numen Lumen Pavilion.

When Elon is not in session, Masses are at Blessed Sacrament Church: Saturdays at 5:00PM and 7:00PM (Spanish); Sundays at 8:30AM, 10:30AM, 12:30PM (Spanish). Directions can be found here.
