The Elon University Percussion Ensemble was founded by its director, Jon Metzger, in 1989. The Ensemble performs a wide range of contemporary music for percussion instruments including forks by Chavez, Beck, Benson, and Varese. Marimbas, gongs, hand drums, and timpani combine with shakers, rattles, bells, and cymbals to form an intriguing and exciting ensemble sound.
