David Lopatto (Keynote speaker)
Dave is currently a Professor of Psychology at Grinnell College.  He has been a co-investigator for an NSF-funded project examining the benefits of the undergraduate research experience.  He is recognized as a leader in assessment and promotion of undergraduate research.  He has authored numerous articles discussing undergraduate research.

 

Elizabeth Chmelo
Liz is currently a second year Master’s student at Wake Forest in the Health and Exercise Science Department and is currently applying for doctorate programs.  At the 2006 Southeast American College of Sports Medicine conference, Liz’s research presentation won a student undergraduate research award.  This award resulted from work she completed as an Elon University undergraduate student.

 

Mary Crowe
Mary is currently the Director of Office of Undergraduate Research at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  She was previously an Associate Professor of Biology and Director of Undergraduate Research at Xavier University of Louisiana. She has published multiple articles on issues related to undergraduate research.

 

Elizabeth Perry
Elizabeth is currently an Associate Professor of Economics at Randolph-Macon Woman’s College. Along with teaching their senior Economics research course, she is also the director of their summer research program.

 

Alan Utter
Alan is currently the director of Office of Student Research at Appalachian State University.  He also serves as a professor of Exercise Science and has an extensive publication record.  Dr. Utter’s area of expertise is in health promotion and epidemiology.
