Welcome!
Welcome to the Elon University transportation site. Elon University provides many resources for making your way around campus, the Town of Elon and now into the Burlington community. Following the links on the left side of this page will provide information on all the transportation options to Elon students both on and off campus.
ELONBIOBUS
The Elon Biobus Transportation System has taken a new look for 2009-2010. Changes have been made to clear up the traffic congestion behind McMichael Science Building while continuing to have the goal of bringing a better service to our riders. The main changes bring West Loop’s campus stop to The Center for The Arts, dropping the McMichael Stop. The Outer Loop will now use Moseley lot(near Belk) dropping the McMichael stop. The University Drive Line will also use Moseley as it’s campus stop. The Danieley Center Tram and the Inner Loop will continue to use the McMichael Bus stop as it main campus stop.
The Elon Biobus System operates four routes to off campus locations offering service to apartment complexes in the community for students, faculty, staff and members of the community. The University Drive Line offers service for local shopping and entertainment centers.
Safe Rides
Safe Rides helps prevent drunk driving and prevent walking alone late at night by providing free rides within a one mile radius of campus. As a student led and operated organization, students volunteer as drivers, navigators or dispatchers and rides for students Thursday 10 pm to 2 am and Friday and Saturdays from 10:30 pm to 2:30 am. Safe Rides can be reached during operating hours by calling 336.278.RIDE (7433).
Safe Rides was founded in 1992 when Elon football player Chad Macy was killed in a car accident as a result of driving under the influence. Safe Rides became one of more than 20 programs run through Elon’s service learning program and Elon Volunteers!.
