Science Exhibits for Sri Lanka Project

Stage 1: On Elon University Campus

Through the GST 256 course (Interactive Science Museum Exhibits) and GST 346 SL course offered on campus, and as volunteers though science/math/engineering clubs, Elon students explore the inquiry process and consider how to facilitate scientific discovery for children. They visit North Carolina science museums and meet with curators.

Students build science exhibits and take them to local schools for school age students to use. In the final paper students analyze what they have learned about the effectiveness of inquiry thinking and on their effect on the community through the service project.

The science exhibits from Stage 1 of the project will be improved and eventually brought to Sri Lanka as part of Stage 2 of the project.
