Gramática 1:

Los superlativos

Superlatives are a way of pointing out or emphasizing something as the "most," "best," "worst," etc. In English, we usually do this by adding "est" to the adjective. In Spanish, we put the definite article (el,la,los, las) in front of the comparison, then add "más" or "menos," and the adjective.

My mom is more patient than my dad, but my sister is the most patient person in the house.

My cousin has the prettiest little girls in the world.

Los irregulares: The irregulars here are the same as in the comparisons (see Unidad 4): mejor/peor, mayor/menor.

My brother is the best student in his class.

My little sister is the youngest in the family.
