Nota Cultural: los saludos

Greetings and goodbyes are different in every culture. You use different greetings in formal situations than in informal ones, and different greetings with friends than with older or younger family members or with strangers.

In hispanic countries, people touch when they greet each other.

Men and women, or women and women, kiss.

Men shake each others' hands, or slap a friend's back.

Children kiss all adults, male and female.

In each country, the customs are a bit different. In Spain, people kiss on both cheeks, while in most of Latin America, they kiss once on the right cheek. The constant is that people touch when they greet each other and when they say goodbye.
