We have a new Advisor!!!!!

Our new club advisor is Kenneth Paul so be sure to say hey and thanks to him at our next meeting!

A special shout out to Mr. Rob Malburg and Mr. Wayne Abermathy for attending our meeting this past week. They are both members of the Alamance Breakfest Club. We were really thankful to have them with us and I hope that they will visit again some time soon! Thanks a bunch!!

Nominations were held at our meeting for the office of President. On Dec. 3 we will be conducting a secret ballot and we will cast votes to see who will be President for the upcoming school year. Lauren, we will really miss you and you are going to be extremely hard to replace. Good luck on your marriage and congratulations on graduation!

Great Job to everyone who attended the Rotary meeting at the Alamance Breakfest Club on this past Mon. A lot of good reports have been given and on be-half of the club I would like to say thanks to all of you who have attended!

Also don't forget about the Rotary Social coming up on November 21, 2002. (This is tomorrow night!!) Angie has the RSVP list so if you are planning on going and signed up to go don't forget to show up.  They are meeting at the Alamance Country Club from 6:30pm until 8:30 pm.

Community Service Projects

We are coming along well with our plans for upcoming community service projects but we still need more volunteers to help.

An afternoon Literacy Program has been arranged at Gibbonsville Elementary School on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3-4:30. We have bu\egun tutoring and helping the kids at this school and we will continue to do so throughout the rest of the year. If you are interested in helping and becoming involved please contact either Melissa Dawley or Emily Infanger. They will be glad to answer any questions that you may have. Remember that we will not be going to the tutoring sessions during Thanksgiving break!

Here are some potential community service projects that we may be working on as the year goes on.

  • Visit a Rest Home around Christmas
  • Help out at a Vet. Shelter
  • Adopt a Grandparent
  • Help with Habitat for Humanity
  • Rotaract Special Olympics
  • Relay for Life

If you have any other ideas feel free to mention them at the next meeting.

Fund-Raiser Projects

Final Exam Candy Grams
We will be selling Candy Grams in Moseley on Nov 21, 25 and Dec 2,3. At this last meeting we sent around a sign up sheet. Thank you so much for volunteering. We now only have one space that needs to be filled. You guys have done an outstanding job. Please do not forget to report to the assigned tables at the time that you have signed up for. If you decide that you can make a certain time and would like to be added to the list just let me know and if you need your name taken off the list please let me know that as well. I would really appreciate it. Try to go ahead and advertise by word of mouth to your friends so that people will already be informed about our project. Up to two people can work each of the shifts. Also we will be stuffing the Campus Boxes on the 5 and 6 of Dec and we will need you to help with that as well.

The following is a the revised copy of the schedule. Again please do not forget to fulfill this obligation.
