Welcome Back for Spring Semester!!!
To all Club Members:
Be sure to log all volunteer hours that you work. This includes
tutoring, our service projects, and meetings. Emily will bring log in sheets
to next meeting to help you keep track of your community service hours.
Upcoming Community Service Projects:
Where: Burlington Manor
When: Feb 15, 2003/ 7-9 pm
Why: Helping w/ Valentines Dance
We will be helping Burlington Manor throw their Valentine's Dance for the
residents who live there. Any help will be greatly appreciated. We will be
arriving at the manor at 6:15 to help decorate. Also we will be looking into
getting donations from area stores in Burlington to help purchase
decorations and gifts.
Also for anyone who is interested. The Manor is in need of a Bingo Caller on
Saturday mornings at 10 am. If you are interested in participating in this
service project please contact Emily.
The after school tutoring at Gibonsville Elementary School will be
continuing from 3:00-4:30 on Monday and Wednesday afternoons. They are also
offering an After-School Program and if you are interested in helping with
that please contact Emily.
We are in the planning stages of the District Rotaract Conference that we
will be co-hosting with Kernersville on April 4 and 5. (make plans to attend
now) Any suggestions of speakers will be greatly appreciated. Please
continue to think of issues that will interest the group of people that will
be attending the conference. We are expecting around 50 people to attend.
Also next week instead of having a regular
meeting we will be traveling to Kernersville to discuss preparations for the
conference. If you are interested in going and did not receive directions
please contact me. We will be traveling to Konica (exit 138) to meet up w/
Angie and then continue our trip the rest of the way to Kernersville. If you
would like to attend and need a ride please contact me or Emily and we will
find accommodations for you.
Our Promotion Committee will be working hard to advertise our club on Radio,
TV and newspaper. However we still need everyone's help. Tell all your
friends about our organization and try to encourage them to join!
Our next regular meeting will be February 18th in Carlton 209 at 6:30!!
We will be discussing several items of business and we would love to see
