Scholarships and Grants

There are generous scholarship monies available for students who major in Religious Studies and/or plan careers in some form of ministry or religious service.


Each spring the Department of Religious Studies selects students to be awarded the following awards:

The Basnight Award
To the outstanding Bible student for the current academic year.
The Greek Bible Award
To the most conscientious and best prepared student in the New Testament Greek class.
The Religion Scholar Award
Given to the rising senior whom the Religious Studies faculty determines to have done the most outstanding work in Religious Studies courses for the current academic year.

Honorary Society

Theta Alpha Kappa is a National Honor Society in Religious Studies. Students who meet the following requirements are selected for membership in the Elon University chapter of this society: An overall grade point average of 3.00 or better, and a 3.5 grade point average in at least 12 hours of courses in Religious Studies.
