:: Organization Fair brings groups together
Representatives from 150 campus organizations and programs set up tables Friday afternoon in between Alumni Gym and Belk Library to recruit new members at the Organization Fair.

Among the organizations represented were club sports, religious campus ministries, media organizations, Intercultural Relations Club, various foreign language clubs, Students for Peace and Justice, Greek Life, Spectrum, Resident Student Association [RSA] and Student Union Board, to name a few.

Each organization decorated their table with their colors, symbols or slogan.

Group members stood at the tables to answer any questions and encourage fair-goers to get involved. Groups of people carried white laundry baskets, given out by a local church, from table to table collecting recruiting materials such as t-shirts, bracelets, candy and brochures.

The Organization Fair is a way to inform new and returning students of everything they can do to get involved on campus. Each table had an e-mail signup sheet for perspective members.

“It was exciting to see the energy and willingness of the students to find out about the organizations,” said Alexa Terry, member of RSA and Twisted Measure. “It’s a great outlet for organizations to get their name out there.”

Some groups demonstrated their talents to attract potential members. RSA decorated their table like a luau and donned grass skirts, the American Chemical Society made ice cream using liquid nitrogen and Twisted Measure performed.
