:: Elon, right where I bELONg
1. Friends
“Hands down, my fondest memory at Elon was wearing a full head-to-toe Easter Bunny costume to Danieley Commons and buying a Danieley Dave Wrap. I took some photos with some enthusiastic fellow diners. Then there was this one guy sitting at a table that was comepletely terrified of me, so when I waved at walked toward him, he nearly cried. Then, to top off the evening, I stood in the road and waved at Tram Jerry before hopping away to my dorm. Priceless.” 2. Faculty “Although all the professors that I’ve had have been utterly amazing, Dr. Bird Stasz probably made the most important impact on my life. She encouraged me to merge my love for the environment with my love for teaching. She is passionate about travel as well and has inspired me and a fellow classmate to go on a road trip this summer to collect resources across the U.S.A. to use in our furture classrooms.” 3. Study Abroad “Study abroad, definitely study abroad. I did three of them, two Winter Terms and one semester and I didn’t get to know the diversity and character of Elon until I went to Australia and had the opportunity to meet and befriend the best group of people in the world. “ 4. Move-In-Day “Moving in day. I was so excited and everyone was there to help me. It was great!” 5. Cook-Out-Runs “I will obviously miss my friends, but I’ll miss Cantina and Meal Dollars too. I’ll miss sunny Saturdays at the top of Oak Hill doing nothing but laughing. I’ll miss having my best friends right next door and being able to hop in the car for a Cook Out run at the drop of a hat. I’ll miss dance parties with the roomies and I’ll miss pulling all-nighters in Club Belk and watching the sunrise over the flawless campus. I’ll miss the spontaneous road trips. I’ll miss the pressure to get in the assignments we’ll never use again. I’ll miss the teaches that made those things seem important. Without a doubt, I will miss thinking we’re rockstars, singing ‘Hit me with Your Bes Shot’ at Lighthouse on Karaoke nights. I’ll miss sitting on the stoops outside our apartments smiling about how we have it all for just that moment. The question isn’t what I’ll miss, but what won’t I miss?” 6. Squirrels “My fondest memories at Elon were of the days with no classes, fantastic weather, great friends and a beer in hand [but only one because I am a responsible Elon drinker]... oh and the squirrels too.” 7. Bricks “I will miss the subtle things from Elon. One of them being the squirrels that are always around campus. I will miss the workers at Elon that are present to talk to and are kind to help out when you need something. I will miss the campus and its elegance and aura that surrounds it. Most of all I will miss the Southern hospitality that goes with being here at Elon and I will also miss tripping on those random bricks walking to and from class.” 8. Events “I don’t just have one fond memory because I have so many great memories from Elon. I remember all of the fun events I’ve gone to with my friends, the concerts, sporting events, Greek events and so on. The opportunities I’ve been given while at Elon were just fantastic.” 9. Acorn “Smelliing like Acorn.” “Getting my Acorn” “Tall non-fat Milky Way with whip cream.” 10. The Bubble “I will miss the friends I have made and the opportunities to get involved in the local community. I’ll miss the green foliage with the red brick buildings in the background. I’ll miss the 5 p.m. bells as I walk through campus on a crisp fall day as I take in the beauty around me and remember how lucky I am to be surrounded by it all and for the wonderful array of experiences I’ve had while here at Elon that have shaped me into the person I am today.” “The way it feels so much like home and you feel so safe. I love the bubble Elon is in. I knew so many people and the professors are so personable.” Staff: - 05/17/07
