Schermerhorn brings another award to men’s tennis team

Junior Mason Schermerhorn was awared the Verizon Wireless Performer of the Month on Tuesday. Shermerhorn compiled a record of 8-1 in March, going 6-0 in conference play.


Men’s Golf wins first tournament of the spring

Finishing with a final score of 857, seven under par, the men’s golf team won the Wofford Invitational. The team was led by a second place finish from junior Justin Newton and a fourth place finish from freshman Scott Hockemeyer.


Judy takes first place at Furman Intercollegiate

Red-shirt freshman Jayson Judy won the Furman Intercollegiate on March 23, 24 and 25. Judy shot a five-under 211 to win the tournament. As a team, the Phoenix finished in second place.


Women’s golf team finishes seventh at Lady Seahawk Invitational

Junior Samantha Widmer led the Phoenix to a seventh place finish at the Lady Seahawk Invitation held in Wilmington, N.C., March 26 and 27. Widmer finished 11 out of 95 competitors


Elon baseball player wins SoCon Pitcher of the Week honors

Sophomore Steven Hensley was named the SoCon Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 2. Hensley shared the honor with UNC-Greensboro’s Ryan Falcon. Hensley is 5-1 with a 3.62 ERA and leads the Phoenix with 65 strikeouts. Hensley was also named to the College Baseball Foundation National Honor Society.


Basketball player continues to garner academic awards

Senior Chris Chalko was awarded the Dave Hart Graduate Scholarships. Chalko was one of seven SoCon students to win the award, which is worth $2,000.
