:: Elonthon will be dancing for the kids
Elonthon 2007 will be held on April 14-15 in Alumni Gym. Elonthon is a student organized philanthropy committed to raising money and awareness for the kids of Duke Childrens Hospital and Health Center through an unforgettable 24-hour event of fun, entertainment and dancing.

This event started four years ago and has since evolved into one of the largest fundraising events held at Elon. When Elonthon was first started in 2003, a little more than 200 dancers participated and $38,000 was raised for Duke Childrens Hospital.

In 2006 dancer registration tripled and more than $120,000 was raised for the children at Duke.

Registration for 2007 has already hit the ground running. Dancers can register at www.elonthon.com as either an individual or as part of a team. Dancers also have the option to pay their $10 registration fee online when they register or pay by check or cash in the Greek Life Office after registation. The Elonthon Executive Committee aims to raise $250,000 for Duke Childrens Hospital this year.

Elon is blessed to have more than 15 miracle families this year. Each year children who are healthy enough to come to Elonthon from Duke tell their stories of struggle and of overcoming obstacles.
