:: Dan Thai restaurant is Thai food at its best
Dan Thai Cuisine of Thailand is a brand new restaurant to the area. Having just opened two weeks ago, it had an impressive crowd, and was definitely worth the long wait for its opening.

The restaurant gives off a very Asian-chic vibe, with black booths, golden Buddha artwork and waiters and waitresses dressed in typical Thai outfits.

The menu offers appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, curry dishes, noodles, fried rice, seafood and desserts. The dishes are all Thai classics, including Pad Thai and chicken satay.

Before the meal, they provide a salad with a Thai peanut sauce, which is a little lighter and less sweet than peanut butter, and not typically a salad dressing, but incredibly flavorful and delicious.

For my main course, I ordered the chicken with yellow curry, which consisted of a coconut milk and curry sauce, with potatoes, onions, peppers and carrots. It was slightly spicy, but came with rice, which cooled it down. This dish was the best Thai dish I have ever eaten, it is not comparable with any other foreign restaurants in the area. Sathian, the main chef at Dan Thai used to be the chef for the Prince of Brunei.

The food was incredibly fresh and well prepared. The portion sizes were perfect and the prices were even better; my dish was only $9.95.

I also got to taste the Pad Thai, which is stir fry chicken and shrimp with thin noodles, egg, tofu, bean sprouts and ground peanuts. This was equally as good as the curry, with a sweet and salty mix.

Dan Thais is exactly restaurant that Burlington needed. It is very affordable and one of the best restaurants in the area. This is a very unique restaurant that is truly one of the best kept secrets in Burlington and deserves a full five stars.
