:: Host introduces heat wave on 'Winstuff'
After an intense battle between three competitive Elon women on the nation’s number one mixed programming show, “Win Stuff,” sophomore Kat Stroscio claimed victory and took home the grand prize: a date with sophomore Sean Flynn. The love-filled episode was filmed the week of Valentine’s Day and aired on channel 14 last Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
The Win-a-Date episode of “Win Stuff,” Elon’s energetic game show, featured three enthusiastic contestants and one lucky eligible bachelor. According to Flynn, the bachelor and host of “Win Stuff,” was surprised to hear that he would be the grand prize of the episode. “I was told about the episode about a week before it aired. I was left out of the loop and didn't catch on that I was the Valentine’s Day prize until after everyone else on the show already knew,” Flynn said. “Win Stuff” producer junior Michele Hammerbacher said she did not believe Flynn would be opposed to the episode. “I don't think he had a problem with three girls competing for a date with him; I don't think any college guy would mind, to be honest,” Hammerbacher said. “[The three competitors] were awesome. They were more than willing to come on the show and win a free dinner date with the charming Sean Flynn.” Stroscio said she was happy to be a part of the show and was excited for the opportunity to win the date with Flynn. “I have always stalked Sean from a distance, so when I found out the prize was a date with him I knew I had to be on ‘Win Stuff,’” Stroscio said. “Seriously though, Sean and I are good friends and I thought it would be a lot of fun to be on the show with him.” According to Stroscio, the competition was fierce. “I was actually losing for most of the episode and I finally came back at the end and won by two points! I am a really sore loser so I wasn't about to let one of the other girls win. And seriously, how could I let someone else steal my date with Sean Flynn?” Stroscio said. As for the date, it has not happened yet, but both daters are eagerly anticipating the big night. Flynn said he is expecting a pretty romantic evening. “Knowing ‘WinStuff,’ we'll probably keep it pretty classy. You know, some candles, champagne and Taco Bell. I'll let you know if things work out,” Flynn said. “Win Stuff’ airs everyday at 8:00 a.m., 1:00 and 7:30 p.m. on channel 14. Reporter: Alexandra Mansbach - 03/01/07
