Course Descriptions
DAN 320 B - Introduction To Trul Khor The “Magical Wheel”/ Bön Tibetan Yoga - 4 s.h.
From the 11th century text, “Oral Transmission of the Zhang Zhung,” seven cycles of yoga focus on calming the mind by calming the breath and opening the natural flow of energy through cycles of movement. Our practice will begin with intense breathing techniques crucial to preparing the subtle energy channels for Trul Khor. Then we will learn the first or Ngondro cycle of movements and possibly into the second Tsawa cycle. Please note that these practices are traditionally practiced to stabilize movements — like cleaning the pipes prior to running a Mercedes! Definitely not a hip-hop class, but very powerful! With permission from Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche, Ligmincha Institute, Master of the Dzogchen Bön School, these teachings are offered to give us a great personal lifelong daily healing practice to handle the stress in our modern lives. From ancient sacred texts to vigorous modern application to self-development, a wonderful gift from the Bön Tradition.
FIN 471 - Financial Derivatives - 4 s.h.
The course will deal with learning about financial derivatives and how they impact financial markets. What are they, how are they determined, and what risks are associated with the use of derivatives as hedges.
PSY 383/HUS 383 - Preparing for Graduate Study in Psychology and Mental Health Fields - 1 s.h.
This course is intended for juniors considering graduate study in any area of psychology and closely related areas (such as social work or occupational therapy). Following sessions on the range of possible areas of study, you will develop a comprehensive plan for applying to graduate school, including research on appropriate programs, developing personal statements, preparing academic resumes, developing skills and credentials relevant to admissions criteria, securing high quality letters of recommendation, and preparing for the GREs. Additionally, students will have opportunities to talk with current graduate students about the application process and their experiences in graduate school. To help understand how admissions decisions are made, plans include a session with local faculty involved in the graduate admissions process. To assist with plans that may include time off between undergraduate and graduate study, you will develop basic job search skills including preparing a general resume. The goal of the course is to provide time and feedback about plans for graduate study and facilitate your application process. Prerequisites: Junior status. Grade: Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory only.
THE 320 B – The Music Theatre Project - 4 s.h.

This team-taught class is total immersion collaboration between professors, students and often, guest artists resulting in a workshop style presentation, in addition to other potential forms of publication. ADMISSION TO CLASS BY AUDITION ONLY
THE 320 D - Special Topics in Performance: Cold Reading - 2 s.h.
