Express Registration
Elon OnTrack
Elon OnTrack is a secure site that allows students to preregister
for classes electronically. To preregister on-line you must have
an active username and password for OnTrack. If you do not have
a username and/or password, please contact the computer support
help desk at ext 5200, to receive or reset your login information.
Step One: Access the Website
The website can be accessed from www.elon.edu -> E-Net -> Elon OnTrack
or from the web address https://ontrack.elon.edu. Log in using your
username and password. Click OnTrack for Students
and choose the Register for Classes
option. Express Registration is the best option if you know the
subject, course number and section or the synonym number of the
courses you want.
Step Two: Using Express Registration
The Express Registration screen has two options. Option One
utilizes the synonym number that is printed in the schedule booklet.
Option Two is used if the synonym number is not known.
Option One: Fill in the Synonym Number AND the Academic Term
- Fill in the synonym number in the first column for the course you
want.
- In the term column, choose the term for which you are
registering. (05/05 – Summer Session II 2005, 05/01 Fall Semester
2005)
- Repeat these steps for all of the courses in which you want
to register.
- Click Submit once you have entered all the courses
you want.
- On the Register and Drop Sections Screen
you must choose an action from the action drop down box for each
of your requested courses. Choose the option of RG to add the
course to your schedule and the RM option to remove the course
from your list. Click Submit.
Option Two:
Fill in the Subject, Course Number, Section AND Academic
Term
- Choose the subject for the course you want from the drop down
box in subject column. (e.g. ENG)
- Type the course number in the
third column for the course. (e.g. 110).
- Type the section that
coordinates with the subject, course number and time in the fourth
column. (e.g. B)
- Choose the term for the course you want from the
drop down box in the term column. (e.g. 03/02 – Winter Term 2003,
03/03 – Spring Semester 2003)
- Repeat these steps for all of the
courses in which you want to register.
- Click Submit once you have
entered all the courses.
- On the Register and Drop Sections screen
you must choose an action from the action drop down box for each
of your requested courses. Choose the option of RG to add the
course to your schedule and the RM option to remove the course
from your list. Click Submit.
Once you have submitted your course requests,
OnTrack will check the courses for time conflicts, course limits,
and prerequisites. For example, if your selected course is closed or
prerequisites have not been met, an error message will appear at the
top of your registration results screen. This message notifies you
that you were NOT successfully registered for that particular
course. You may then click the Home tab at the bottom of the screen
to go back to the menu and choose the Register for Classes option to
register for an alternate course.
Step Three: Verify Your Schedule
Click on the My Schedule option to view and/or
print your schedule. This will verify your successful
preregistration in the courses that you selected.
Step Four: Log Out of OnTrack:
You may exit OnTrack by clicking the Log Out
button once the process is complete. You are
allowed to make changes to your schedule during the preregistration
period from the time your access begins until the end of
preregistration. If you want to make changes to your schedule you
may log in and make adjustments during the preregistration period.
