Physical Attributes: Leopards are about 28" from feet to shoulder and can weigh up to 140 pounds. Their coats vary from pale brown/tan to black with dark brown (almost black) spots called rosettes
Life Span: 12-17 years in the wild; up to 21 years in captivity
Native Location/Habitat:Sub-Saharan Africa, Middle East, East Asia
Conservation Status: Near-threatened
Similar Species: There are nine recognized subspecies of leopard, and the Amur Leopard. Lions, tigers, and jaguars are all panthera species
