Assistant Director, Social Work Community Outreach Service (SWCOS)

SWCOS is a leader in community-university partnerships, training graduate students for community practice and social change, and an innovator in solving community problems. The Assistant Director oversees field education and direct services, monitors existing programs and assists in developing new ones, develops budgets, insures accountability, assists in fundraising, and reports to funders. The Assistant Director takes a lead in intern recruitment and support, developing placements, supporting Field Instructors, and working with the Field Education Department. Qualifications include MSW with five years experience in community practice with diverse populations, supervision, administration, strong clinical skills and resource development including grantseeking. Prefer candidate with Social Work License. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.

Program Facilitator, Community House
Princeton University NEW!
This is a hands-on position coordinating, shaping and maintaining Community House's long-standing tutoring programs designed to both address and decrease the achievement gap that affects underserved minority youth living in Princeton. The programs are sponsored in partnership with organizations in Princeton Borough and Township and departments on campus. Under the supervision and with the guidance of the Community House Director, the program facilitator will:
- Coordinate and manage all staff and volunteer trainings Prepare Community House publications Work with project coordinators to evaluate programs and maintain volunteer records Assist in the hiring, training, supervising and scheduling of CH work-study staff Support Community House's summer programs Manage all logistics for all Community House programs, including scheduling monthly site visits and meetings with community partners, fielding and responding to inquiries, preparing and mailing correspondence, maintaining calendars, and organizing and publicizing events
- Provide general support to the Community House office.

Service-Learning Program Director
Virginia Commonwealth University
Virginia Commonwealth University seeks a service-learning program director in the Division of Community Engagement. Reporting to the Vice Provost for Community Engagement, this position will be responsible for all aspects of VCU’s service-learning program so that the university meets its student engagement goals and the community receives meaningful services that meet their needs. The responsibilities for this position include: assisting academic units with developing service-learning opportunities for their students; training faculty and community partners on service-learning practices; training and supervising undergraduate and graduate teaching assistants who support service-learning classes; enhancing visibility of service-learning within VCU and with the community; evaluating and applying service-learning best practices and assisting with scholarship opportunities pertaining to service-learning; assisting with university-wide service projects; managing a service-learning data system; and serving as a liaison to university and community organizations to assist and promote community-based learning. There is the potential for teaching an undergraduate course and developing an affiliation with an academic unit. This position will collaborate with a part-time Service-Learning Faculty Scholar. The Peace and Justice Studies Association (PJSA) is seeking an experienced administrator and progressive leader for a part-time position of Executive Director. PJSA is a nonprofit dedicated to bringing together academics, K-12 teachers and grassroots activists to explore alternatives to violence and share visions and strategies for peace-building, social justice, and social change.
The Executive Director works closely with the Board of Directors in setting goals and articulating the vision of the Association and in developing strategies and plans to meet goals; manages the business affairs of the Association, including recommending and implementing an annual budget; serves as Editor for a quarterly newsletter; works with Board on fundraising and grant-writing; motivates and manages multiple projects performed by a committed set of volunteers, including a major annual conference. PJSA is based on a university campus, but primary daily interactions of the Executive Director are with a Board distributed across the country and with a membership largely within North America.

The Gulfsouth Youth Action Corps Member
The Gulfsouth Youth Action Corps is comprised of a national network of college students who are dedicated to rebuilding youth services and opportunities in the hurricane affected areas of the Gulf Coast region. Corps members commit to a summer of service engaging, inspiring and empowering local youth through the Gulfsouth Youth Action Camp. The camp is an intensive 8-week (beginning late May through early August), holistic, cutting-edge, youth leadership program designed for students entering grades 5-8 (middle school) that focuses on:

Washington Campus Compact (WACC) is currently recruiting 8 VISTA (Volunteer in Service to America) members to serve on college campuses across the state in the Seattle area, the Spokane area, Walla Walla, Olympia and the North Central Washington area. WACC VISTA members will mobilize college service-learners and volunteers to serve poverty-affected P-12 students and community members, develop and sustain campus/community partnerships to serve poverty-affected students and community members and develop college service-learning projects within courses focused on poverty issues.
