Volunteer Specialist: Georgia Southern University, Statesboro, GA NEW!
The Volunteer Specialist will serve as the connection between Academic Affairs and Student Affairs to create and promote programming that links community based services to classroom students and experiences. The position will build relations with community agencies and connect needs of the community to academic coursework that relates to these needs. Additionally, the Volunteer Specialist will promote a sense of civic engagement within the university by further developing existing volunteer opportunities and creating new opportunities for students, faculty, and staff.
Salary Range: Minimum $24,969 to Midpoint $31,226

The TCU Center for Community Involvement and Service-Learning, works to foster social responsibility and lifelong learning through community engagement and service-learning at TCU.
Duties include the following:
1. Increase the awareness of service-learning on campus and demonstrate how service-learning can be integrated into educational courses; 2. Promote community service and volunteerism to benefit needy communities, by partnering with community based organizations including faith-based organizations that provide social services; 3. University of Wisconsin-Colleges and the University of Wisconsin-Extension AmeriCorps*VISTA Position NEW!
The VISTA member will work with Wisconsin Food Security Consortium, a collaboration of Hunger Coalitions; as a statewide UW-Extension Poverty and Food Insecurity team of extension, faculty and UW-Colleges faculty.
The VISTA will conduct poverty and hunger forums, create service-learning experiences for students, increase awareness of poverty and hunger, and work with hunger coalitions to increase availability and accessibility of local assistance programs. The VISTA will work in both urban and rural communities and with Native American, African American and Latino communities.
The VISTA will be a valued colleague on several efforts planning and conducting conferences, leading action planning efforts with Hunger Coalitions and teaching community partners to increase hunger and poverty awareness. The VISTA will be able to choose specific projects based on interests and skills.
The VISTA will be based in Madison but will have opportunities to work statewide. The position will begin November 13, 2007 and end on November 16, 2008.
Senior Research Associate

The Institute for Community Research (ICR) has an opening to begin in
2008 for a full time Senior Research Associate. The mission of the Institute, built on principles of community-based collaborative research, is to conduct research with community partners that promote justice and equity in a diverse, multi-ethnic, multi-cultural world.
The Senior Research Associate will demonstrate a strong track record in successful federal research grant awards, and will be prepared to contribute significantly to grant development that advances the community oriented mission and work of the Institute, including his or her own partnership research grants, and to contribute through this work to shaping the future of the Institute. The successful candidate must have a doctoral degree in an applied social science, public health research, educational, or humanities field and a strong publications record, as well as the interest in and desire to conduct research in a non-clinical community setting. Experience and expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methods is preferable.
