Admissions and Community Partnership Facilitator

Director of Outreach and Accounting  

The Admissions and Community-Partnership Facilitator will devote ¾time to working with individuals interested in participating in university and co-curricular global service-learning programs. The remaining time will be devoted to coordinating placements with community partners. The position is full time, salaried between $22,000 and $26,000 annually / negotiable and begins November 19. Review of applications will begin October 29.

The Director of Outreach and Accounting will devote ½ time to developing Amizade’s outreach and marketing plan and overseeing that plan’s implementation. The remaining time will be devoted to overseeing Amizade’s incoming and outgoing payments, ensuring continuous monitoring of the overall budget, and regularly summarizing budgetary status and reconciling the accounts in continuous preparation for tax filing. Background and experience in marketing and accounting are essential to the position. The position is full time, salaried between $26,000 and $32,000 annually / negotiable and begins in mid-January 2008. Review of applications will begin December 15.

Youth and School Programs Coordinator

The Program Coordinator supports the Youth and School Programs and Professional Development Departments.  The departments are primarily responsible for developing and implementing sustainable programs that improve the quality of service-learning, enrich the lives of students, and strengthen communities.  Services provided by the department are intended for schools, community based organizations, youth, and adult practitioners on a local and national level. Current programs include the Walkabout Program, The National Service-Learning Network, Urban Institute, and the Local Urban Youth Leadership Training.

Volunteer Program Manager, Disaster Recovery & Reconstruction

This person will work in four primary focus areas. These will include (1) creating and implementing volunteer recruitment and management systems with a special focus on the skilled trades, (2) compiling and maintaining records and data for financial reporting of a CNCS Skilled Service in the Gulf Grant, (3) developing strategic partnerships to recruit skilled individuals and trade associations volunteers for gulf rebuilding (4) interfacing with local affiliates to facilitate successful volunteer logistics and support.  The purpose of these responsibilities is to create sustainable, high-quality systems for Disaster Recovery and Reconstruction. Salary Range: $40,000-45,000

Volunteer and Service Learning Center at The University of Texas at Austin
Assistant Director of the Volunteer and Service Learning Center – Service Learning Coordinator

This person will work directly with faculty and instructors to create and improve service learning courses, including conducting effective and efficient research on best practices for potential service learning courses. Promote and raise awareness of service learning among students, faculty, and the local community. Conduct research and publish on service learning, community engagement, and/or social justice. Serve as leading member of a community engagement task group and university leadership committee aimed to assist various university departments and programs in developing broad community engagement programs, courses, and research. Serve as a member of the executive leadership team for the Volunteer and Service Learning Center. Develop and facilitate social justice and reflection programs for students and interested faculty. Facilitate training programs for local nonprofits/government agencies who will work with UT service learning students & facilitate presentations. Represent UT at regional & natl service learning, civic engagement, and/or social justice events. Teach one course per long-semester on community engagement.

College for all Texans Foundation

AmeriCorps*VISTA Positions

College for All Texans Foundation will recruit and place 15 AmeriCorps*VISTA Members at GO Centers in K-12 schools in the San Antonio area and 16 AmeriCorps*VISTA Members in K-12 schools in the Houston area.

VISTA Members serve as capacity builders in GO Centers to motivate, coordinate, and inspire students to complete all steps necessary to enter college. GO Centers are statewide networks of in-school academic engagement programs that provide students with the necessary tools and resources to plan and prepare for college enrollment.  GO Center initiatives and activities often focus on the college admissions process, financial aid resources, career exploration and student and parental outreach and awareness.  VISTA Members help students prepare for higher education by providing information about the admissions process and financial aid as well as motivating students to pursue higher education.  VISTA members are also trained to recruit high school and college students and other community volunteers to provide GO Center services that facilitate the college-going message among students and their parents.  AmeriCorps*VISTA members also collaborate with colleges, universities, and other community-based organizations and partners to promote college awareness and academic development among GO Center students and their families.  VISTA Members also create and coordinate G-Force, student-led volunteer groups that increase momentum and awareness of college opportunities among their peers and help to sustain successful Go Centers. VISTA members receive training in college admissions and financial aid processes, G-Force recruitment and development, and program management and evaluation.

The Service Learning Institute at California State University Monterey Bay (CSUMB)

Coordinator of Community Partnerships

Under the general direction of the Associate Director of the Service Learning Institute (SLI), the Coordinator of Community Partnerships is responsible for the overall development, maintenance and tracking of community partnerships for CSUMB’s service learning program.  The Coordinator serves as the Service Learning Institute’s primary representative in the community, introducing community organizations to the work of the SLI, and to the processes for building service learning partnerships with CSUMB faculty and students.  The Coordinator also serves as the main conduit of community service-related information for CSUMB faculty and students, informing the campus of relevant community initiatives and programs. The Coordinator serves as the primary contact for service learning in the College of Professional Studies, supporting faculty in Liberal Studies, Business, and Kinesiology.  The Coordinator works with other SLI coordinators to insure that the community partnership process is efficient, coherent and responsive to the needs of the community partners.  Travel is required in addition to working occasional evenings and weekends.

Salary:         $3,717 - $5,577 per month (effective January 1, 2007)

Under the supervision of the Tucson Director, and working with the Executive Director, the Education Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all Educational Programs meet stated program and budget goals and are designed to further BorderLinks’ mission.  The Education Coordinator manages the Academic, Delegations and Sustainable Food Programs and develops new programs and partnerships.  The Education Coordinator oversees a staff of approximately 9 people and is expected to work collaboratively as part of the BorderLinks Management Team.Salary Range:  $25,000 - $30,000 depending on experience
