Interested in an opportunity to use your skills to enhance a national service-learning organization? The staff of Learn and Serve America’s National Service-Learning Clearinghouse works collaboratively to foster educational transformation, youth development, and community improvement through reference, training, and technical assistance. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for a graduate student to be actively involved in all aspects of a non-profit special library, assisting the librarian and the rest of the staff with:
- Reference and research
- Cataloging, abstracting, indexing and classifying digital and print materials
- Collection management as directedDatabase management including data quality oversight
- Development of marketing materials and/or outreach
- Implementation of Web 2.0 and Library 2.0 initiatives
- Possible opportunity to develop/spearhead a project of special interest if it fits within the needs and priorities of the Clearinghouse.
Required Qualifications:
- Enrollment/acceptance in an ALA accredited program or other graduate programStrong computer and online searching skills.
- Strong writing and communication skills, with excellent attention to detail.
