C. Peter Magrath Engagement/Kellogg Outreach Scholarship Awards
The award program seeks to identify colleges and universities that have redesigned their teaching, research, extension and service functions to become even more sympathetically and productively involved with their communities. All public four-year institutions are eligible for the award and may submit up to two applications. Applications must include a community partner and can include two-year and private four-year institutions as collaborative partners. Prize to Reward Civic Contributions
The Civic Ventures Purpose Prize awards Americans over 60 whose creativity, talent and experience transforms the way the nation addresses critical social problems. Maximum Award: $100,000. Eligibility: Americans who are 60 years of age by January 31, 2008, and currently working in a leadership capacity in an organization or institution (public, private, nonprofit, or for-profit) to address a major social problem. World Bank Essay Contest: “Shaping the City of Your Dreams”
The 2008 World Bank Essay contest has been launched. Youth ages 18-25 are eligible to apply and prizes of $1000 to $5,000 will be given away. Winners will be announced on April 30 and honored at the Annual Bank Conference on Development Economics in South Africa in June. The submission deadline is March 23, 2008. Call For Nominations For The 2008 Awards For Municipal Excellence
Sponsored by the National League of Cities, the Awards for Municipal Excellence identify and showcase outstanding city and town programs that improve the quality of life in America's communities. Festival VidéEau Video Contest
The Festival VidéEau is an international competition for video clips organized by the International Secretariat for Water (ISW) that invites young people aged from 17 to 30, to submit 90 second or shorter video clips on the theme "Water, People and Sustainable Development". The winners of the competition will be announced at a prize-giving ceremony to be held during the World Youth Congress, taking place in Quebec, Canada, in August 2008.
