Community College Collaboration Award
The Community College National Center for Community Engagement is accepting Collaboration Award nominations in the categories of Collaboration with Business & Industry, Collaboration with Universities, Collaboration with Social Agencies, Collaboration with K-12, and International Service Learning. The due date is January 15, 2008.
Nominate your college and be recognized for your outstanding service learning and civic engagement programs. Winners will be announced at the Community College National Center for Community Engagement's 17th annual national conference on May 21 through 23, 2008 and will be presented with their awards at the Awards Ceremony. Winners will also be invited to present on their programs during the concurrent sessions. Colleges who have won a Collaboration Award within the last 5 years are ineligible to apply. The Great Debaters Debate Video Contest NEW!
IDEA is excited to be a co-sponsor and judge in The Great Debaters Video Contest that is taking place in celebration of the new movie, The Great Debaters, starring Denzel Washington. The movie is a celebration of debate and the power words have to help cross cultural and ethnic boundaries.
IDEA invites its members and debaters throughout the U.S. to participate in the Debate Video Contest. Winners can receive an array of great prizes, including roundtrip tickets on JetBlue Airlines. Community-Campus Partnerships for Health (CCPH) Annual Award
The CCPH Annual Award recognizes exemplary partnerships between communities and higher educational institutions that build on each other's strengths to improve higher education, civic engagement, and the overall health of communities. The intent of the award is to highlight the power and potential of community-campus partnerships as a strategy for social justice. The award recognizes partnerships that are striving to achieve the systems and policy changes needed to overcome the root causes of health, social and economic inequalities. Partnerships must nominate themselves and need not be members of CCPH.
Public recognition of the award-winning partnership's achievements will be made at an award presentation ceremony at the 3rd Community-University Exposition (CUexpo) Conference, May 4-7, 2008 in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.
