The MLK Challenge Model
Through this grant effort NC Campus Compact is encouraging campuses to explore the MLK Challenge model. This model, created by the ACT (Appalachian and Community Together) Office at Appalachian State University (Boone, NC) in 2000, is a day of service projects... but with a twist. Funding for this effort is made possible by a grant from the Corporation for National and Community Service(CNCS). NC Campus Compact joins six national organizations to lead and promote efforts for the MLK Day of Service 2009-2011. Click here to read the July 2008 CNCS press release announcing the grant award.
