Steps to Join NC Campus Compact

- The president or chancellor writes a letter to the chair of the Executive Board of the Compact indicating a desire to join North Carolina Campus Compact.

- The president or chancellor consider whether s/he would like to have his/her campus included on the signatory page for national Campus Compact’s “Presidents’ Declaration on the Civic Responsibility of Higher Education.” The Declaration and signatory page can be reviewed at: http://www.compact.org/resources/declaration/. If interested in signing, e-mail the NC Campus Compact Executive Director at lkeyne@elon.edu.
- The institution pays membership dues of $5,000 per year for four year institutions and $2500 for two year institutions, with a preferred minimum commitment of three years. Checks should be made payable to North Carolina Campus Compact and sent to the address below. Payment of dues includes membership in national Campus Compact.
- The President or Chancellor appoints someone to serve as the Primary Contact for NC Campus Compact.

- The Primary Contact or President's Office completes the Institutional Contact Form which allows campuses to identify key contact people who will receive information, publications, and any other communications directly from NC Campus Compact. Select individuals that will ensure information will be shared with others so that a campus can receive all benefits associated with membership

- The Primary Contact and/or designated individuals attend the New Member Campus Orientation:
- Spring 2008, March 10
- Fall 2008, September 22
When Should A Campus Join?
A president or chancellor can join at any time during the year. If joining between June 1 and November 30, a full year’s dues are requested. If joining between December 1 and April 1, half the dues are requested. If joining between April 1 and May 31, membership will begin June 1.
In order for a campus to benefit from the NC-ACTS! AmeriCorps program, join by August 15. In order for a campus to request a North Carolina Campus Compact Americorps*VISTA for the following academic year, before January 15.
