Throughout the year, NC Campus Compact sponsors events for various constituents to provide information and training on issues related to civic engagement.  Click on each header below to go directly to the site for that event. Conferences are open to faculty, staff, students and community partners from member and non-member campuses. The Civic Engagement Institute, regional meetings, facilitated discussions and trainings are for NC Campus Compact members only.  

Student Conference
In the fall of each year NC Campus Compact hosts a conference designed to allow student leaders the opportunity to network and to gain the knowledge, skills, and tools to create or expand their own campus civic engagement efforts. 

During the conference luncheon the Community Impact Student Award is presented to select students from member campuses who exhibit outstanding leadership and innovative approaches in community service or service-learning endeavors. Visit the Awards section of the website for more information.

Civic Engagement Institute
This Institute is an intensive one-day gathering focused on a specific topic. The Institute occurs the day before the annual Service-Learning Conference. 

Service Learning Conference
Each February NC Campus Compact hosts a conference bringing together faculty and staff from across the state and region to network and share innovative and creative ideas and models that enhance or inform service learning practice.

 
During the conference luncheon, NC Campus Compact presents the Robert L. Sigmon Service Learning Award to an individual who has made significant contributions toward furthering the practice of service-learning.  Visit the Awards section of the website for more information.

Civic Engagement Administrator Conference
This spring/summer conference is specifically designed for staff responsible for coordinating civic engagement efforts on their campus.  In a relaxed setting, participants learn about best practices and build relationships through structured workshops, open space, roundtable discussions, informal question and answer periods, and reflection.

During this gathering the Civic Engagement Professional of the Year Award is presented to a staff person at a member campus that has worked towards the institutionalization of service, created and strived towards a vision of service on their campus, supported faculty and students, and formed innovative campus-community partnerships.   Visit the Awards section of the website for more information.

Regional Meetings
Two times a year, NC Campus Compact hosts regional meetings for our member campuses.  These gatherings involve a two-hour professional development training on a specific topic, lunch and a general business meeting about upcoming events and opportunities presented by NC Campus Compact.  There are also opportunities for participants to highlight efforts on their individual campuses.

Facilitated Discussions 
Launched in 2007, these bi-annual gatherings explore questions/issues that member campuses are encountering.  They involve either a facilitator or presentations from model campuses.  Participants have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss possibilities that help them return to their campus with ideas for implementation.
