NC Campus Compact Executive Board

The business and affairs of NC Campus Compact are managed by an Executive Board currently composed of a select number of member Presidents/Chancellors.  Dr. Kenneth Peacock, Chancellor of Appalachian State University, began serving as the Board Chair in 2008.  Dr. Leo Lambert, President of Elon University, served in this position from the founding of NC Campus Compact in 2002 until 2008.  The NC Campus Compact state office is housed on the Elon campus. 

In addition to attending Board Meetings, below are the key responsibilities of the Executive Board:

• to advocate for civic engagement, volunteerism and service-learning in higher education and in North Carolina
• Assist in the recruiting of new members for the Compact
• Stay informed about what is happening in NC Campus Compact, participating in and taking responsibility for making decisions on issues, policies and other board matters
• Work with staff and the Executive Board as partners towards achieving the goals of the Compact
• Strategize how to mobilize the Compact to impact the broader statewide issues and initiatives compatible with the Compact’s mission and vision
• Promote NC Campus Compact and its mission throughout North Carolina, representing the Compact as requested
• Advocate for resources for NC Campus Compact with current and potential funders

All NC Campus Compact Executive Board members serve on a voluntary basis without compensation.
