Eligibility: This contest is open to any campus that is receiving MLK Day grant funding directly from NC Campus Compact or through their state Campus Compact office. Selection: NC Campus Compact staff will select the 5 finalists and post the entries on this website. The general public will be able to vote on the selections between February 7-18. NC Campus Compact will notify the finalists and winners directly using the contact information submitted with the entry. Submission: Starting January 20, 2009, eligible campuses can send their links to Kara Brown, kbrown37@elon.edu. Please note that we will only accept one entry per campus. Themes: Although their is no specific contest theme, the overall theme of the MLK Day of Service is "Make it a Day On... Not a Day Off!" In addition, the focus of the NC Campus Compact grant is to show the positive impact of campuses and students on their community. Finally, two areas of emphasis of the Corporation for National and Community Service are: 1) engaging and serving disadvantaged youth and 2) engaging Baby Boomers. If your projects do either, if would be a good idea to showcase these efforts. Judging Criteria: Submissions will be judged by the following criteria:
Copyright Material: Entrants must be the original author of everything they include in their presentation or have permission to use copyright protected material. If the presentation uses existing music, video clips, photos or the like, it is very likely that someone else owns a copyright to that material and the entrant must obtain the copyright owner's written permission before using the material. Consent from Participants in your presentation: Winning entrants must declare that they have wrriten consent from any people appearing in their video. Please be aware that consent requirements may vary from state to state and each entrant is responsible for complying with state consent requirements.
