Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service

MLK Challenge 2010 - North Carolina

 

For the MLK Day of Service 2010 NC Campus Compact is pleased to award over $8000 in grants to the following institutions who will mobilize students throughout the state of North Carolina on January 18, 2010.

Mini-Grants were awarded in three categories:

$200 Spark Grants for campuses that have never coordinated an MLK Day of Service event

$300 Enhancement Grants for campuses that have hosted an MLK Day of Service event for 1-3 years $500 Innovation Grants for campuses that have hosted an MLK Day of Service event for 4+ years

For MLK Day of Service 2009 NC Campus Compact disseminated $7,700 in mini-grants to 23 member campuses throughout the state. These campuses mobilized 2002 volunteers to serve on 124 projects. View the list of 2009 grantees here.

www.mlkchallenge.wetpaint.com -  the NC Campus Compact MLK Challenge wiki. A wiki serves as a webpage on which anyone can modify content and contribute. We hope that your student-planning teams will utilize this wiki as a resource. Students & staff can upload documents, post questions, create new pages, etc as a means of collaborating and sharing ideas and information. Please join (free, and very simple) and share information and collaborate on the wiki.

Share your photos!

We would love to share photos from your 2010 MLK efforts. We have established a Flickr account so that you will not have to send large attachments via e-mail.  Please make sure that you have secured permission to use the individuals in the photos. Below are instructions for uploading your photos.

To upload your photos into the MLK Day 2010 photostream:

Email your photos to hair80zap@photos.flickr.com.You can send photos individually or in bunches up to 5. Please put your campus name in the subject line of each photo email you send. Feel free to include photo descriptions in the body of the email – but keep in mind that anything in the body of the email (signature lines included) will show up on the photostream.
