FACILITIES
Elon's Music Department is housed in the Elon University Center for the Arts, a 75,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility. The Center for the Arts includes: McCrary Theatre, a large, fully equipped theatre and concert hall; the more intimate Yeager Recital Hall with digital recording capabilities; modular practice rooms and studios; Steinway concert grand pianos; scenery and costume shops; and computer labs and modern rehearsal facilities.
Nearby, historic and recently renovated Whitley Auditorium houses a stunning new Casavant Pipe Organ.
The Department of Music also has a Music Technology Lab with 23 8-core Mac Pro digital audio workstations running Pro Tools, Logic Express, Digital Performer, Sibelius, and GarageBand. Each station includes an M-Audio Mobilepre USB, ShuttlePro, and M-Audio Oxygen 49 USB MIDI Keyboard Controller.
The department also has a Recording Studio running Pro Tools M-Powered and Logic Pro with a ProjectMix I/O control surface and 18 x 14 Firewire Audio Interface, numerous synthesizers including a Moog Voyager, and a tube preamp.
