Elon Mock Trial Thanks Carolina Classic Volunteer Judges

On October 16-18, 2009, Elon Mock Trial hosted the 3rd Annual Carolina Classic Mock Trial Invitational Tournament.  The tournament brought over 250 undergraduate students from 16 universities to the campus of Elon University for the weekend.  In just three years, the Carolina Classic has become one of the premier early season tournaments in the country, hosting some of the toughest competition that any tournament offers.

This tournament would not have been possible were it not for the support of the Elon University School of Law and the local legal communities in North Carolina.  The four round tournament used over almost 100 volunteer judges throughout the weekend.  In addition to the Elon School of Law, judges hailed from the Alamance County Bar Association, Greensboro Bar Association, Durham Bar Association and many more.

This year's tournament was also a success due in no small part to the financial support of the Elon University School of Law Student Bar Association and the Elon University School of Law Admissions Office.  Both of these sources provided significant financial support to provide lunch to all students and judges on both days of the tournament.  On Sunday, lunch included a full sit-down buffet in McKinnon Hall which culminated with the presentation of the Individual and Top Team Awards.  The complete results of the tournament can be found by clicking the Invitational link at the top of this page.

Elon Mock Trial thanks the countless local legal practitioners for their continued support of undergraduate legal education.  Many local attorney's expressed their support for the tournament but had scheduling conflicts which prevented their direct involvement, we sincerely hope that those individuals will continue to support this tournament and the Elon Mock Trial program in the coming years.

The Elon Mock Trial team wishes to specifically thank the following individuals for volunteering their time as judges during the tournament:
