This series only contains three dimensional artifacts. Primarily, the objects are from the leftovers of the "Texas Terror" plane crash on Hinchinbrook Island (Great Barrier Reef) on December 18, 1942. Some interesting items from this plane crash include ½ of the co-pilot's steering wheel, a compass used during the flight, miscellaneous pieces of the shrapnel, and a piece of the plane that has the member's of the flight written on the exterior (1:3, 1:6, 1:10, 1:11, 1:12, 1:13, 1:14, 1:15). Perhaps the most interesting artifact in this series is an old shaving kit, possibly used by Dewey Hooper while serving in the US Army Air Forces Reserve (1:15). Other artifacts include memorabilia from Elon College (when Dewey was a student) including a cloth duffle bag and a 1940 class ring (1:4, 1:5).

There are only two items in this series, both reflecting different time periods of Dewey Hooper's life. The grade book from 1940 represents Dewey Hooper's career as a teacher at Central High School (location unknown). He taught classes including Algebra, Math I, Chemistry, and Physics. All the students' names and grades are recorded in this book (2:1).

The second book is a log of Dewey Hooper's flights during 1942. The three main geographic locations entered include Bennettsville, SC; Shaw Field, SC; and Turner Field, GA. The last entry was made on August 2, 1942 (2:2).

This series includes letters that offer information primarily pertaining to the crash of the Texas Terror airplane, as well as some biographical information about Dewey Hooper. Of particular historical significance is a write-up explaining in detail the information about the airplane, how and when it crashed, as well as listing who was aboard the plane when it crashed in 1942 (3:3). In addition, there is a letter written by Dewey Hooper's brother C. Woodrow Hooper, which mentions important biographical information about Dewey Hooper (3:5).

One of the smallest series in this collection, Lists, only has a list of the members aboard the Texas Terror when it crashed in December of 1942. Included in this list is a record of what diaries and narratives can be found in the archives in Maxwell Field, Alabama (4:1).

Another one of the smallest series in this collection, Literary Productions contains a detailed narrative of reminiscences that discuss the events surrounding the crash of the Texas Terror in December of 1942 (5:1).

One of the larger series in this collection, Photographs, includes both black and white and color prints pertaining to Elon College and the Texas Terror plane crash. There are only a few negatives in this series (6:7, 6:8). The photographs relevant to Elon College include various shots of campus buildings and different sports teams (6:1-6:4). There is an entire folder dedicated to photographs of Dewey Hooper (6:5). In particular, there is a picture of him in a photography lab, possibly at Elon College (6:5). The only color photographs can be found in the folder relating to the aftermath of the plane crash (6:9). These photographs primarily show shots of the wrecked plane and the geography/environment of where the plane crashed (6:9).

Printed Material is the largest series in the collection. It consists of multiple items including certificates, newspaper clippings, booklets, articles, and awards. Primarily, this series is made up of booklets and newspaper clippings. The majority of the booklets are published by Eastman Kodak Company, and relate only to photography techniques, papers, printing, and cameras (7:3-7:7).

The newspaper clippings offer information about how various items in the collection were found, events surrounding the plane crash, biographical information about Dewey Hooper, and the scholarship fund set up at Elon College in remembrance of Dewey Hooper (7:13-7:18).

The certificates and awards in this series are issued to Dewey Hooper primarily from the United States Military, mainly reflecting honorable duties or accomplishments in the training field (7:2, 7:9-7:11). However, there is one certificate from the Department of Public Instruction in the state of North Carolina that certifies Dewey Hooper as a high school teacher to teach math and science (7:10). Another certificate officially discharges Dewey Hooper from the United States Army due to his acceptance to join the Army Air Forces Reserve (7:11). This certificate has Dewey Hooper's original signature and print of his right thumb (7:11).
