Phi Alpha Theta Essay Contest Winner

Jenna Stout is the winner of this year's Phi Alpha Theta Essay Contest. The name of her essay is "Vitorian Child Labor Reform: Upper-class Participation and Exploitation.

History Paper Prize

• $100 award!
• Deadline: Spring 2010.

Phi Alpha Theta Annual Book Sale:

Coming up this Spring around the Fonville Fountain in front of Alamance. Date is still to be determined.

Internships and Seminars:

• Be thinking about internships. The Department has lined up some exciting internships at historical sites, so get in early to select one that interests you.
  
• Plan ahead for seminars. Seminar topics aren't the same from semester to semester or from year to year. Plan ahead to find one that you are particularly interested in.

Geography-Related Activities:

• NC World Geography Bowl (annually in Greensboro): Compete against students from across the state answering geography questions.
