Habitat Builds

Every academic year, the Habitat for Humanity Chapter of Elon University sponsors the building of a new house in the Alamance County community. In addition to fundraising to support the costs of construction, Elon students also attend weekly builds on Saturday mornings.

Students perform a variety of tasks throughout the year, including raising the walls of the house, laying shingles on the roof, installing siding around the exterior, and painting the full interior. These students get the chance to see the Elon-sponsored house become a home for the family.

Builds are also a wonderful opportunity to meet the family members working with Habitat, as well as the Alamance County Core Crew members who organize all construction sites and make the completion of these homes possible.
