The Food and Drug Protection Division’s mission is to make sure that foods, feeds, drugs, cosmetics, pesticides and automotive antifreezes are produced to satisfactory standards. The use of chemical analysis and other forms of monitoring is used to assure quality of products. This division is closely related to the structural pest control and standard divisions in assuring products used in the environment are not detrimental, for example to water quality. It is also related to the next division (Agronomic Division) in its responsibility for testing and monitoring appropriate environmental levels.
