New Employee Orientation

The initial impression that a new staff or faculty member receives is highly correlated with loyalty to an institution.

The Developing Leaders @ Elon program is expanding its services this year to include the development of a New Faculty and Staff Orientation that will focus on the institutional objective of retaining excellent employees and communicating Elon University’s values. Programs for new employees will include:

• Receptions with new faculty and staff hosted by the Senior Staff to introduce them to the values that are critical to Elon University’s continuing success and to provide an opportunity for them to build community at Elon
• Lunches with new faculty and staff with supervisors or department Chairs to provide feedback after initial 30 days
• Departmental celebration after employee's completing the 90-day introductory period
• Mentoring program for all new staff that parallels the current program for new faculty
