Thanks for your interest in Elon Catholic Campus Ministry's Peer Ministry Coordinator position! The Peer Ministry Coordinator (PMC) is a rewarding position designed for a recent college graduate desiring to spend a year of service to God and the Elon Catholic community. The PMC plays an integral role on the Catholic Campus Ministry staff, interacting closely with Elon students, encouraging them to become involved in the organization, and helping them grow in their faith. Through daily interactions with students at weekly programs, activities, and Masses, the PMC will have the opportunity to become acquainted with the students and counsel them through a very important stage of their faith formation.
The Peer Ministry Coordinator is a ten-month position, beginning in August of the academic year to the following May. The PMC must be a practicing Catholic, a self-starter, and a team player. In addition, the PMC should be professional, mature, outgoing, energetic, and personable. The PMC will receive a furnished residence at the Catholic Newman Center on Elon's campus, as living among the community provides the most effective way of ministering. The PMC is a salaried position, with medical and dental benefits (if not already covered under another plan), group life insurance, and a retirement plan. The PMC reports directly to the Catholic Campus Minister.
The full application and job description for the Peer Ministry Coordinator position can be found to the right. Please review each one thoroughly. The application process for the 2013-2014 academic year begins in January, with the application deadline on March 1, 2013. The application must be turned in along with a resume. As part of the hiring process, interviews with the CCM staff will be scheduled shortly after the application is received and reviewed.
We ask that you pray and discern this unique and wonderful opportunity to serve God and the Catholic community at Elon University. If you have any questions or would like to speak further, please contact Fr. Gerry Waterman.
