A major in Art History at 40 credit hours requires the following courses:
ARH 210 Art and History I: Gods and Empires
ARH 211 Art and History II: Cathedrals to Conquest
ARH 212 Art and History III: Revolt, Reform and Critique
ARH 301 Art History Methodologies
ARH 495 Senior Seminar in Art History
Additionally you will need:
- 4 hours of art history (ARH) at the 300-400 level.
- 16 hours of electives from any of the following:
- Art History Courses (ARH) at the 300-400 level
- ART 112 or introductory level studio art course (ART)
- 4 hours of foreign language at 200 level or higher
- 4 hours of history (HST) at the 300-400 level
- ANT 114 Introduction to Archaeology
If you have taken ART 221, ART 222, or ART 230, you may substitute them as follows:
ART 221 = either ARH 210 or ARH 211
ART 222 = either ARH 211 or ARH 212
ART 230 = your choice of ARH 210, 211, or 212
