Kids in Science
A CISA Grant was granted to the Chapter this year to help bring science into the community.
In the Fall, members and faculty bring science into the 5th grade Academically/Intellectually Gifted students at Andrews Elementary School. Each visit involves mini science projects and lasts about an hour, two Fridays a month.
During January and February ACS-SA helps with the 20th Century HEART Kids with science fair projects. Members help the kids with the development and presentation of their science fair projects. The kids are willing to participate, due to economical and academic backgrounds they are not given opportunities like this without help. Many of these science fair projects have placed at the local school level and continue to the county level where a few have placed highly.
