6. What happens to a student who is found responsible for an honor code violation?

Answer:  The range of possible sanctions for an honor code violation can be found in the "sanctions" section of the Student Handbook Web Site.  Sanctions are assigned by the judicial board  or by the Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs (if the student waives the right to a judicial hearing and selects an administrative hearing).  All decisions regarding the student's grade in a course are made by the student's professor.  A student receiving an Honor Code "F" is not permitted to grieve the grade through the University's regular grade grievance process.  The student has the option to appeal the case on predefined criteria.
